What Has Teeth And Is Slimy All Over? An Orc!
Orcs
are the minions of Sauron and Saruman.
They are disgusting creatures made from mud but a long time ago, were
once elves or the corruption of elves.
That is really hard to believe but it does say that in one of the
L.O.T.R movies. The orcs make weird
noises and in the first Lord of the Rings movie (The Fellowship of the Ring)
they are all black and wear black clothing.
In the second and third movies Peter Jackson and his artist crew made
them a little more detailed. They are
different colors with bones as jewelry and also different types of skin. The Orcs do not like daylight and prefer to
live in darkness and evil or in caves like Moria.
There
is a race of Orc called the Uruk-hai which has only two showings of its race. Those Uruk-hai are most likely very popular
since that race is not very common.
Their names are Lurtz and Uglúk.
Lurtz is commanded by Saruman to catch up with the Hobbits (Merry and
Pippin) and bring them back alive. Lurtz
does catch up with them at Amon Hen and captures them. Uglúk takes charge after Lurtz is killed by
Boromir and that leaves the responsibility of taking the Hobbits to Saruman. Uglúk and his army of Orcs take a break at
the edge of Fangorn Forest and that is when everyone beneath him gets a craving
for fresh meat. Uglúk knew his orders
and even though they wanted to chop up the two Hobbits he refused. Snaga (another Orc) did not care about orders
and only about his stomach so he tried to sneak off with the Hobbits but Uglúk
killed him before he could get too far. Well since Snaga is mainly meat (not fresh in
any way!) the Orcs start to feast upon him.
They are soon interrupted when Éomer's Rohirrim force attacks the diners and
kills off every Orc. Did the Hobbits get
out alive though? That is for you to
find out. –Smaug
I have obviously made a mistake in this last post. Thanks to the person who pointed it out! The orcs are not made by mud, but were created by Morgoth, a character from the Silmarillion. If you have not read the Silmarillion I advise that you should. :) --Smaug
